The Importance of CPR Training


The American Heart Association has disclosed that immediate CPR can potentially double or even triple the chance of survival for individuals experiencing cardiac arrest. Alarmingly, however, studies indicate that up to 70% of Americans feel unprepared to intervene during such emergencies. To bridge this gap, the dual approach of providing education through a highly accessible mobile platform and facilitating live training sessions is seen as essential.

ADP's program, which is optional for clients, offers users a straightforward two-step learning process:
1. Watch a brief 60-second Hands-Only CPR instructional video.
2. Complete a concise four-question assessment.

Upon successful completion of the assessment, participants receive digital recognition in the form of a Nation of Lifesavers badge, symbolizing their commitment to readiness. Since the beta launch of this feature in Fall 2024, over 160,000 individuals have engaged with the Hands-Only CPR training, with the aspiration to extend its reach to the app's robust 14 million active monthly users.

Hands-Only CPR is particularly effective for adults and adolescents who may suffer sudden cardiac arrest. Yet, startling statistics reveal that only half of employees can identify the location of an AED in their workplace. ADP's initiative aims to tackle this deficiency by not only educating employees on CPR but also familiarizing them with emergency response equipment.
