Samaritan's Purse Responds to Catastrophic Floods in Central Texas
In light of the horrific flooding that recently struck Central Texas, Samaritan's Purse has swiftly mobilized its disaster response teams to support the affected communities. The flash floods, which occurred unexpectedly, have already claimed over 80 lives and left dozens more missing.
The challenges presented by this natural disaster are immense. Torrential rain fell overnight, causing the Guadalupe River to rise significantly—an alarming 26 feet in a mere 45 minutes. This intense surge led to widespread flooding, particularly impacting Kerr County and cities like Kerrville and Camp Mystic, as well as the San Angelo area.
As families grapple with the aftermath of such unprecedented loss, search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Samaritan's Purse to ensure that all avenues are explored for those still unaccounted for.
