METLEN Unveils New Milestone in Defense Production

On June 24, 2026, METLEN (LSE: MTLN) inaugurated its fourth production unit at the M Technologies Hub located in Volos, Greece. This landmark event marks a significant enhancement for the Greek and European defense industries, showcasing METLEN's commitment to advancing national and international security. The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Greek government officials and international defense industry leaders, highlighting the importance of this development on both a national and European level.

Strategic Importance of the New Facility

As part of an overarching strategy to create a robust industrial defense ecosystem, METLEN's new plant reflects its 25 years of industrial expertise, efficiency, and reliability. The M Technologies Hub will see a complete vertical integration of production capabilities, ranging from raw material processing and manufacturing to assembly and support for complex defense applications. This comprehensive facility spans 100,000 square meters and will comprise six production units, ensuring that Greece can effectively participate in new European defense value chains.

Executive Chairman Evangelos Mytilineos emphasized the critical role of a solid defense industry in safeguarding Greece's sovereignty and contributing to Europe's security autonomy. He stated, "Today, we are not just launching another industrial unit; we are establishing an impressive defense industrial ecosystem that aims to thrive on the global stage, further strengthening our country's defense capabilities."

Meeting Contemporary Challenges

In his address, Mytilineos discussed the current geopolitical landscape and the necessity for nations to redefine their priorities in light of rapid global changes. He asserted, "The historic challenges we face demand that we are better prepared, become more self-sufficient, and enhance our ability to protect our interests in an increasingly uncertain world."

The commencement of operations in this new production unit underscores METLEN's commitment to fulfilling its strategic plans outlined during the company’s Capital Markets Day in April 2025. It strengthens METLEN's foothold in the defense sector, enhancing the national defense industrial base and signaling Greece’s position as a dependable partner in defense manufacturing.
